Well the last week has been filled with Pennsic projects since finishing the 22 belt favors for Their Majesties. Bought and lined a straw hat for Vince and fixed mine and lined it as well. I fixed his felt hat as it was misshaped due to wetness. Ironed it and used one of my foam head models to shape it properly. Fixed mine by refreshing with the iron and cleaning off the animal hair that had accumulated. Now to complete Vince's hat with plumes and a pin. I finished a pocket for myself and a token displaying belt favor, Vince made me a leather belt and put bosses on the outside of it from another belt. I have to fix one item on my chatelaine but that is to come after current work.
Looking for rain boots since the summer is wet. Some roads are only open to foot traffic at Pennsic due to the mud. Hoping to find a pair of over rain boots to fit my canvas comfy shoes. I also am looking at insoles for all the walking that will be done, my feet will be sore without them. Bought a red velvet lint brush, meant more for home but will help with garb and keeping things fur free.
Finished my larger plain coif and documentation, finished the plain sleeping cap and documentation, finished class documentation on coif, and am 90% of the way through my 1560's ruff documentation. I have to finish making my kits for the classes and make a 1560's neck ruff including the steps in the documentation. Feel in good standing for Pennsic War week being 2 weeks away. I won't be there during peace week. Glad since I have so much going on at home at need to make sure my Cats are all squared away with food and litter for the cat sitter.
Well it all goes well, entering the mad rush phase of July. The less needing purchased the less to buy on the way or on site. War practice was a good dry run for Pennsic seeing what does fit in my friends SUV. Things are coming along well to be prepared for the hot dry/damp week of war. Besides finishing class kits and one last A&S project, my goal this weekend is to pack and stack as much ahead. Work on an inventory of items going to Pennsic so I can account for my things.
Working my permanent later shift at work has made it more difficult to manage time for prep other than weekends or mornings. I now know why my parents woke early on weekends to get errands done. Responsibility bites sometime, though no one is going to do things for me. So early it is on days off till Vacation kicks in.
