I came up with an idea to make a Saint Clare doll considering my embroidery expertise. Also next weekends event involving the Franciscan order theme looking forward to all the learning. It came across to me when planning, she can reside in the case with my crucifix and wood rosary would be nice for next years event.
For my Friday night I went full production mode. Making 6 poor Clare sisters for the silent auction for next weekend event. I have very sore fingers currently, some splitting from dryness and weather changes. So I am machining these but they are all linen clothing descalced (barefoot) as is proper to the order. The body is muslin cotton fabric over wire and stuffed frame. In all a very cute momento was my goal.
So running the silent auction, taking classes, displaying my work and helping as needed. Will be a busy weekend. Next month running the ACG shire encampment for the Lewisburg arts festival.
Hoping to get good inspiration to sit and begin the epic research paper of doll goodness soon.
‘Tis the season,
THL Marrin O’Kealy
