So most of my free time has been spent at the hospital keeping her company, along with my father and two sisters who live semi local. My older sister lives out of town but needed regular updates to have the accurate details for group decisions. So to say the least it’s been a stressful week more than normal. Requisitely if my posts are spread out a bit more than usual, it’s more than likely related to family.

Although I did find some time to partially investigate the basal fibers of the Teasel. A bundle of which that has been drying in my garage. I do see a nice inside layer of cellulose that could be possibly combed. It is very attached to the epidermis layer of the dried Teasel stems. So I have to see about a way of detaching this layer without upsetting my neighbors and making much of a mess. I am going to do further research on this as the summer is almost over and the Teasel is till alive but beginning to dry. Will need to harvest and process soon if it’s viable.

I've just come across your blog, as I'm interested in teasel fiber as well as all things science. I'm sorry to read about your mother's health issues. I know how difficult these things can be. I wish you and your Mom all the best.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words, these health issues take time. As I am able will post updates of the current teasel harvest.
