Needing a dedicated wooden box for my bone and horn sewing tools for sometime. So tackled this task over the weekend. Portable storage enough to go to events and be free standing on a table or shelf at home. I used wooden drawer knobs for the feet on this glued in, considering smaller screws to set them into place but this is not a piece that will have a lot of pressure on those feet. Also thinking about small felt dots so the feet won’t scratch and slides nicer.

Added a wood burned texture to all the corners bottom and opening edges top and bottom. It really made this piece pop with a medium walnut finish. Keeping one items in a good looking storage that could be modern and old with a traditional wood treatment. Makes me very happy it can blend with my mission style furniture at home and medieval traveling pieces as needed. There is still pent of room for my nice fabric shear and serious seamstress tools.
So here’s to keeping ones sewing tools in good shape. Especially stored in a handy functional year stylish manner.
Happy sewing,
THL Marrin O’Kealy
