Well I didn’t mean to get another wheel to add to the spinning wheel herd but it happened. I have projects that require good production of quality yarn, can’t mess with mistakes on my antique wheels. So needed a wheel for plying and another for mass spinning. The fatter bobbins of my cherry wheel will do nicely for plying. Plus can put the Ashford bobbins on the rack as the yarn is taken off while plying.
This Ashford Traveler came with an official manual, spare parts,10 bobbins and a double treadle set up. It has all the features I wanted and was very reasonable price. So many are over $500 with the same features and half the bobbins. So making test yarn right now to get used to the double treadle pedal power of this wheel. Which I will read up and see if I need to make adjustments.
So far so good, was well taken care of and is in working order. The double foot motion is quite nice, although I will need to learn to get the hands up to speed with the feet, always a challenge with the wheel. Very pleased so far.
The little things in life,
Marrin
