Over the years there have been changes made to the competition. The toy category is not listed anymore, cross-entering to several categories is not used anymore, although I do not let the changes deter me. The Dastardly Doll Project would be great in the Toy category, Woodworking category, and could be a possible Accessories category but it's a stretch. For many years, I just enter one category and really put all sorts of effort into the research to tell the story of the project. Although since there are many facets to the project the category Applied Research makes the most sense. It's an honor to capture the Category for Applied Research in this year's Ice Dragon Arts and Science competition.
I wasn't able to attend the event on Saturday. As mundane life got in the way, in its many unique facets. Even though I had the day to go, money was prohibitive due to a large household bill coming up. The prices of everything caught up with me but will plan better next time. Found out by watching the replay of court, yay for technology. Also allowing remote judging of the competition without technology. Having work considered over skype or another such video or email would not be possible.
Hoping to display "Dolly" aka Dorothy of The Dastardly Doll Project at a later event, so she can be properly appreciated. Just so pleased with the results, the category card will be sent in the mail. I want to encourage those who labor at home on A&S and are not able to be in person quite yet. Your work is valued and appreciated, you are not alone in your passion, and there are means that it can be seen by a larger audience in the known world. Miss everyone of my friends in the Hael and in the kingdom, will be seeing you soon.
Grateful,
Marrin O'Kealy
