Isabelle the doll was completed during this work week. This doll was a little easier than Louise Juliana. Notably due to the difference in over 50 years of fashion change. Since the fitted garments are more simply patterned. A fitted red silk cotterdie over a black undress with red painted shoes. I feel a simple yet elegant piece.I added a veil for interest as I did with the other dolls. Though just like the others it’s just pinned and not sewen. So period accessories but nothing that wouldn’t be out of the ordinary.
At this point I feel I have some reworking on the features of the face. No wig needed luckily. Since the hairline is not showing on the doll. Made a creative decision and painted a hair line. Although not wig made for this doll, wouldn’t work with the hat as it was showing.
The hat is pretty good version from the one in the painting, silk red fabric interlined edged with silk organza pleated behind metallic trim. I still need to find a trim on the bottom of the overgrown. So their will be some minor changes but she’s 95% done.
One down 3 to go,
THL Marrin O’Kealy
